As opposed to unit 1, where I did a lot of sketchbook work, in Unit 2 I focused more on canvas. The act of transferring the textures from sketchbooks to canvases does not excite me as much as playing with the sketchbooks themselves. To outline the image, I often use a pencil and a single line. This gives me more space to work on the canvas. In the meantime, I have been asking myself, how can I view a sketchbook as a container, a place where I can let my mind wander?
